[[[Richard and Emmeline have grown up beautifully. They are both tall, strong, tanned and lean. Richard walks over to a pole and picks up his loincloth. He puts a shell on the pole, and puts his loincloth on, then heads for the hut. He goes to Emmeline’s "room" and wakes her up.]]]
RICHARD: Em! Em, wake up, it’s Christmas morning.

EMMELINE: [sleepy] Christmas?
RICHARD: Yesterday I counted 52 big marks on the tree, and last night he came.
EMMELINE: What are you talking about, Richard?
RICHARD: Santa Claus, and I saw his reindeer. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, all of them right down there on the beach. Come on, lets see if he brought us anything.

[[[Emmeline gets up and they go out of the hut and towards the tree where they’ve hung their stockings. Richard points to "hoof-prints" in the sand]]]

RICHARD: Come on, ‘Em, hurry! That’s where the reindeer were, see. Look at our stockings

EMMELINE: And there’s something in them!

[[[They get their stockings from the tree and sit in the sand beneath a palm-tree. They pour the contents of their stockings out. It’s pearls.]]]
